The next morning we packed up the car again and drove a few more hours to Pensacola, FL and spent a couple of days playing on the beach. I think finally our beach vacations may be relaxing again. It does take a lot of effort to get everything on the beach, but once the umbrella, sun shade, and chairs were set up and the everyone properly sunscreened, we were able to actually sit back and relax for a bit and just watch the kids play in the sand and dig. They could do that for hours! And I could watch them for hours. I'm looking forward to a couple more beach trips this summer.
On the morning we were leaving we heard some really loud planes above our hotel and Brad quickly remembered that the Blue Angels were practicing that morning. We love the Blue Angels and used to go watch them at SeaFair when we lived in Seattle. We rushed over to the Naval Aviation Museum (where we were going to go anyway that morning) to watch their tricks. Little Mister loved it. Baby sister was mostly content to play with the rocks in the parking lot but they both loved the new Blue Angels toy planes they got. Oh, and there was a lighthouse across the street that we saw too :)
