Happy Birthday Mom!

Yesterday was my mom's birthday.  It's hard to keep track of how old she is because she doesn't act her age (unless she is wearing her old lady sun glasses and asking for the senior discount for her movie ticket).

Here are a few things that I love about my mom:

  • She has literally cried over spilled milk.
  • Her favorite things are holding babies, reading, and swimming (mine too).
  • She is the best story teller I've ever met (particularly if she has finger puppets).
  • She loves the beach and loves boogie boarding.
  • She aspires to go white water rafting before she "gets too old".
  • Her favorite TV shows have consisted of, Remington Steele, JAG, Walker Texas Ranger (ok, maybe that was for my dad), and Desperate Housewives.  That's right sibs, your mom who wouldn't let you watch MTV, Soap Operas, or The Simpsons now watches Desperate Housewives religiously.  In her own words "I never miss an episode".
  • She taught me how to drive by letting me sit in the middle and steer and then later actually use the pedals too.   No this probably isn't very safe - but it was fun.
  • She loves to travel and explore.
There are probably lots of other things I could write about, but you get the gist.  Happy Birthday Mommy!

Thanks, Karen. That was a precious tribute. This blog may have been a month coming, but going from snow baby to crawling, happy, football playing, happy, family baby, did I mention happy through 300 shots?--baby, made it worth the dry spell. Those pictures are amazing! I'm so glad you are able to get a professional to capture him so beautifully. And you and Brad are very camera-worthy, too! --Mom
